Description
Reports To Marketing Coordinator
Division/Department Marketing & Business Development
Who We Are
Fountain Mortgage is an independent mortgage company based in Prairie Village, Kansas. We close loans, but what drives us is the relationships we build along the way with our clients, our real estate partners, and each other. Inside Fountain Mortgage lives The Agency, our in-house marketing division built exclusively to serve our loan officers and their referral partners. We design, produce, and execute marketing that helps our team grow, stay connected, and show up professionally in one of the most competitive markets in the country.
We are also a team with a genuine culture. We host events every month, and every October we shut it all down for the Fountain Olympics, our signature all-staff field day that has become a tradition people look forward to all year. If that sounds like your kind of workplace, keep reading.
We are looking for a fall marketing intern who wants real responsibility, not busy work.
The Keystone Project: The Open House Suite
Your semester-long project will be to conceive, develop, design, and launch The Open House Suite, a turnkey resource kit for the real estate agents in our referral network.
Open houses are one of the highest-visibility moments in a real estate agent's business, and most agents cobble together their marketing on the fly. You will change that. Over the course of the semester you will research, design, and produce a complete branded guide that gives agents everything they need in one place: templated flyers, a social post sequence, a pre-event checklist, a post-event follow-up email, and a walkthrough of how to request a single property site through The Agency.
Once the suite is built, you will help us market it. That means drafting the email campaign to our agent database, building the social content that announces it, and tracking who requests it. Every agent who downloads The Open House Suite is a warm connection for our loan officers. You will not just create the asset. You will help us put it to work.
At the end of the semester, you will present the suite, the launch campaign, and the results to our leadership team. That presentation is your portfolio piece.
What You Will Work On Week to Week
Beyond the keystone project, your 15 hours will be anchored in real marketing production across four areas.
Signature Event: Annual Rooftop Agent Appreciation
Each October, Fountain Mortgage hosts one of the most anticipated events in the Kansas City real estate community: a rooftop gathering for 200 agents that has become a genuine relationship moment for our team and our referral partners. You will work alongside our marketing leadership on planning and execution, including promotional materials, agent communications, event-day logistics, and social coverage. This is not a background role. It is a front-row seat to what relationship-driven marketing looks like.
Social Media
You will create, design, and caption two social posts and one story per week for Fountain Mortgage's social channels. This is original content work, not scheduling or boosting. You will be writing copy, designing graphics, and understanding what actually connects with an audience of homebuyers, homeowners, and real estate professionals.
Closing Gift Creation and Management
Fountain Mortgage sends closing gifts to clients at one of the most meaningful moments of their lives. You will own the production side of that: supply inventory, gift design, assembly, loan officer communication, and shipping coordination. The volume is real and the detail matters.
Open House and Broker Open Marketing
Our loan officers and their real estate partners rely on us for open house flyers, broker open promotions, and single property site creation. You will take those requests and produce polished, on-brand materials that agents are proud to use. You will get fast and fluent at turning a listing into a marketing moment.
Content Creation and Pop-By Support
Rounding out your week, you will contribute to blog posts, email drafts, and other written content as needed. You will also support our seasonal pop-by program, helping brainstorm concepts and assist with assembly and coordination when campaigns are running.
Requirements
What We Are Looking For
You are a junior or senior studying marketing, communications, advertising, or design. You write clearly, think visually, and follow through on detail. You are comfortable juggling more than one thing at a time and honest when you need help.
Design ability matters here. We work in Adobe Creative Suite alongside Canva, and we want someone who can contribute at both levels. Exposure to short-form video editing, specifically CapCut or a comparable tool, is a plus. Familiarity with any of the following will serve you well:
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Canva
  • CapCut or comparable short-form video editing tools
  • Social media content creation for Facebook & Instagram
  • Email marketing platforms (FloDesk, Mailchimp, or similar)
  • Copywriting and basic SEO concepts
  • CRM or project management tools (any experience here is a bonus)

Mostly, we want someone who takes their work seriously and wants to leave something behind that did not exist before they got here.
What You Will Walk Away With
By the end of this internship you will have built and launched a real marketing resource used by real estate agents across the Kansas City market. You will have produced social content, managed a gift program with real client impact, and contributed to live marketing campaigns. You will have a portfolio, a reference, and a clear sense of what it looks like to do marketing inside a company that leads with relationships.
