Summary:

As the Vice President of Surgical Services Category Management, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and optimizing the strategic direction of our Spend Management solutions focused on Physician and Clinical Preference Items used within the service line(s). This leadership position encompasses general surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, urology, plastic surgery, and other surgical service lines. In this role, you will be responsible for a two-sided business, aligning value propositions for providers and suppliers to maximize the impact of every dollar spent in healthcare. You will manage a team of supplier- and provider-facing category managers. You will report to the SVP, Clinical & Physician Preference Items within Vizient's Spend Management business.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and demonstrate Vizient's thought leadership in the Surgical Services category, maintaining the team's expertise in clinical practice, product alternatives and attributes, evidence, market intelligence, member data, and trends.
  • Foster best practices and facilitate regular customer forums to gather insights and perspectives.
  • Create and execute comprehensive strategies for contract coverage at various levels, including national, local, and committed. Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and revenue plans to measure contract performance.
  • Innovatively enhance supplier value propositions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with managed services to deliver effective category spend management solutions to healthcare provider organizations.
  • Manage staffing, capacity, and performance of a team of Enterprise and Provider-facing Category Manager.
  • Leverage technology and data to differentiate Vizient's insights and ensure sustained impact.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred; advanced degree desired.
  • 10 or more years of relevant experience required.
  • Deep subject-matter expertise in Surgical Services service line/product category.
  • Experience within healthcare provider and/or supplier environments.
  • Consulting experience, coupled with excellent presentation and storytelling skills.
  • Track record of successful team management and communication skills.
  • Strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to formulate and execute complex market strategies.
  • Experience generating industry thought leadership content.
  • Proficiency in cultivating executive relationships, negotiation, and influence.
  • Strong aptitude for data-driven decision-making and customer outcomes orientation.
  • Drive, intellectual curiosity, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Willingness to travel.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $187,800.00 to $348,300.00.
