OverviewAs a Co-op, you will be part of the team from day one and given training and tasks that are important and impactful to our projects' success.
Success in this role depends on the Co-op’s initiative and teamwork skills. A successful Co-op will effectively apply fundamental technical concepts to real-world challenges, adhering to departmental best practices, and consistently planning and communicating work efforts. The Co-op will contribute to delivering world-class technology solutions within a diverse, collaborative, and high-performing technology team.
McKenney's has a long history of success in hiring Co-ops and supporting their evolution into industry leaders. Many of our current senior leaders began their journey in the Co-op program.

Responsibilities

  • User Support: Assist office and field employees with IT issues.
  • Hardware Management: Maintain computers, printers, mobile devices, and rugged field equipment.
  • Software Support: Install/update business apps (e.g., Microsoft 365, Procore, Bluebeam).
  • Networking: Install, configure, and troubleshoot connectivity at offices and jobsites.
  • Security & Compliance: Ensure cybersecurity, access controls, and IT policies.
  • Field Tech Support: Set up and maintain job site IT infrastructure.

RequirementsEducation and Experience:

  • Candidates must be enrolled at a school or university majoring in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related degree, enrollment in a Co-op  program preferred.
  • Availability to work a minimum of 30 hours per week (40 hours preferred) Monday through Friday.
  • Candidates are encouraged to complete at least two full-time, alternating Co-op rotations before graduation and should avoid a full courseload while working, which may delay graduation. 
    • 1st Rotation: Fall 2026
    • 2nd Rotation: Summer 2027
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, and detail focused.
  • Productive in fast-paced environments with strong multitasking skills.
  • Able to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage workload efficiently.
  • Effective communicator across diverse teams, including PMs, drafting, field staff, and fabrication shops.
  •  Receptive to feedback and committed to growth through continuous improvement and  collaboration.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment. 
  • No or limited exposure to physical risk; occasional jobsite visits may require climbing permanent and temporary stairs/ladders, passenger use of hoists, and navigating active construction areas.
  • Light physical effort handling average weight objects up to 50 pounds may be required occasionally.
