About this opportunity

This role sits within the Strategy and Business Performance team, which supports business planning, performance reporting, and business improvement across the Downstream organization. As a student, you will contribute to meaningful work that helps connect strategy, planning, and performance insights, while gaining exposure to cross-functional collaboration, analytical tools, and real business priorities in a supportive team environment.

What you'll do

Responsibilities may include:

  • Support weekly, monthly, and quarterly strategy, planning and business performance processes/reporting byvalidatingdata, preparing inputs, and helping delivertimelycommunications and dashboards.

  • Develop, maintain and enhance reporting tools, dashboards and visualizations in Power BI and similar tools to improve usability and insight generation.

  • Assist in improving report performance, usability, and data accuracy

  • Work with datasets, relationships, and data models to support report generation

  • Perform QA/QC validation of data before and after report development to ensure data integrity

  • Support development of Databricks views and pipelines, including querying data for reporting use cases

  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot data or reporting issues

  • Assist with day-to-day operational and analytical tasks as required

  • Apply AI and digital tools to streamline workflows, improve reporting efficiency, and enhance the quality of work outputs.

Who you are

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa).

  • Available to begin work in September 2026.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data visualization skills, with the ability to leverage AI, work effectively with large data sets, and identify trends or discrepancies.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft 365 suite; experience with Power BI, Power Automate, SQL, or similar tools is considered an asset.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment and present insights clearly to different audiences.

  • Curious self-starter with sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic work environment.

Education

  • Must be enrolled in a Business Undergraduate Program (Computer Science, Finance, Commerce, Accounting areas preferred) at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work termOR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term.

  • Candidates currently enrolled in either a Masters or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered.

  • New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.
