The Attorney will be responsible for managing a caseload of complex litigation matters across the firm's specialized practice areas and will handle all phases of litigation from inception through resolution. Responsibilities include legal drafting, conducting legal research, preparing and responding to written discovery, taking and defending depositions, motion practice, court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, client and witness interviews, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.The successful attorney will have experience handling insurance defense matters, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be committed to delivering practical, results-oriented legal solutions for our clients. This position requires the ability to develop case strategy, evaluate liability and damages, collaborate with clients and claims professionals, and provide timely reporting and recommendations. Candidates should be comfortable working independently while also contributing to a collaborative team environment.Supervisory Responsibilities:This attorney may have supervisory responsibilities. The attorney may provide direction and work coordination to support personnel and junior team members as necessary to facilitate effective case management and litigation support.Responsibilities:Independently manages cases.Serves in jury trials and evidentiary hearings.Conducts and defends fact and expert depositions, including retained and opposing experts.Drafts and argues dispositive motions, including motions for summary judgment, and appears at related hearings.Performs site inspections and attends in-person depositions as required.Prepares litigation strategy, evaluates exposure, and advises clients on case direction with a trial-ready approach.Manages a high volume of files while ensuring compliance with court rules, deadlines, and procedural requirements.Maintains and grows client relationships, including managing an established and expanding book of business.Reviews premises liability issues, including but not limited to notice requirements in slip-and-fall matters when applicable.Utilizes internal and external resources as needed to address complex legal and factual issues.Education & Experience:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law schoolActive membership in good standing with the Florida BarMinimum of 3 years of working in a defense trial law firmMinimum of 3 years of background & knowledge specializing in one of the firm's practice areasDemonstrated trial experience required.Significant experience taking and defending expert depositions required.No agency submissions accepted.Application Process:Applicants must apply directly online instead of sending application materials via email.
