Job description

POSITION TITLE: Production Supervisor I - 1st ShiftDEPARTMENT: Factory Management JOB TYPE: ExemptJOB REPORTS TO: Production Manager
FUNCTION
This position will be responsible for supervising the employees and day-to-day operations on first shift while also providing direction and guidance to second shift.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Selects, leads and directs employees to work in a productive and safe manner.
  • Plans and provides employees with training in processes and equipment operation.
  • Enforces plant rules and regulations.
  • Reviews and approves employees' Time and Attendance
  • Manage employees' daily activities to ensure production efficiencies.
  • Assign tasks & projects to Group Leads
  • Leads continuous improvement efforts
  • Interacting and liaising with the other manufacturing teams and Logistics to prioritize orders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience (20+ people) in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Reading (English), writing (English) and math skills needed.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Communication and human relations skills required. While bi-lingual literacy (Spanish and English) is a plus, employee must be able to communicate in English proficiently.
  • Candidate must have a strong work ethic, good communication skills, basic computer knowledge and be able to supervise employees in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Hours are first shift. May be required to work some Saturdays.
  • Closed toed shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection are required.
