Job description

Who We Are


Metrolinxโ€™s GO Expansion program is delivering more GO service across the network, including the capacity to deliver two-way service every 15 minutes or better on core routes. Work is already underway on new track, station renovations and infrastructure upgrades on parts of the Lakeshore, Stouffville, Kitchener and Barrie lines. The investment will generate thousands of new jobs and economic opportunities across the region. The ONxpress Civil Joint Venture is comprised of Aecon Infrastructure Management Inc. and FCC Canada Ltd. This multidisciplinary team leads the delivery of civil and track works, leveraging global expertise to introduce innovative solutions across the GO Transit network.


What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Support the implementation of quality assurance & quality control activities in accordance with Output specifications, quality plans and procedures, and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to carry out required inspection and or tests as defined in the ITPs.
  • Assist in evaluating and documenting the quality of construction work executed by ONxpress civil contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Verify that all inspection and testing equipment is fit for purpose and properly calibrated in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Identify and report non-compliant work or materials; initiate Nonconformance Reports (NCR) in line with established procedures, and review proposed remedial and corrective actions.
  • Monitor and ensure timely closure of all NCRs, escalating issues or bottlenecks to appropriate parties and tracking them through to resolution.
  • Ensure that non-compliant work or materials are not processed, installed, or used until corrective actions are implemented and verified.
  • Review inspection and test reports received from third party agencies to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Support the completion, accuracy, and organization of quality records and documentation.
  • Maintain and manage quality records for assigned work areas in accordance with project requirements.
  • Participate in and support Factory Acceptance Test for track components as required.
  • Perform other duties assigned to support project quality objectives.

What You Bring

  • A degree or diploma in Engineering or related discipline.
  • 2-4 years of experience in heavy rail projects, preferably within the province of Ontario.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively across multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and document management system.
  • Experience working with Metrolinx, CN or similar rail organization and AREMA will be considered an asset.
  • Documented experience in conducting and supporting quality audits.
  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead / Internal Auditor training is preferred.
  • Valid G-class driverโ€™s license required.


Expected compensation for this role is between $70,000.00-85,000.00 annually. Base salaries are determined according to multiple factors including skills, experience and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into consideration. In addition to base salary ONxpress also offers a comprehensive medical and dental program, RRSP with company matching and the potential to participate in our discretionary, performance-based bonus program.
