Position Summary
We are seeking a results-driven Industrial Engineer to support product development, cost optimization, and manufacturing efficiency across our outdoor product lines, including camping chairs, beach chairs, cots, and folding outdoor furniture.
This role will focus on products built with metal tube structures and fabric components, and will work closely with Product Development, Sales, and overseas manufacturing partners to ensure products are designed for manufacturability, cost competitiveness, and retail readiness.
The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience in steel fabrication, textile construction, and cost engineering, with the ability to bridge product design and factory execution.
Key Responsibilities
  •  Analyze and improve manufacturing processes for metal tube-based structures (cutting, bending, welding, powder coating) and fabric components (cutting, sewing, assembly) to drive efficiency and reduce cost
  •  Partner with Product Development and Design teams to implement Design for Manufacturability (DFM), ensuring products are scalable, durable, and cost-effective
  •  Develop and maintain detailed cost models and BOM structures for new and existing products, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and margin improvement
  •  Collaborate closely with overseas factories (China and Vietnam) to evaluate production capability, optimize processes, and resolve manufacturing issues
  •  Support product commercialization by reviewing samples, prototypes, and pre-production builds, ensuring alignment with cost, quality, and timeline targets
  •  Analyze structural performance of products (e.g., frame strength, joint stability, fabric durability) and drive corrective actions as needed
  •  Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles (5S, line balancing, waste reduction)
  •  Optimize product design and packaging for improved container utilization and logistics efficiency
  •  Monitor key KPIs such as cost per unit, production efficiency, defect rates, and yield, and provide regular reporting and recommendations
Qualifications
Education
  •  Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
Experience
  •  3–7+ years of experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing, or product engineering
  •  Hands-on experience with metal (steel/aluminum tube structures) and fabric/textile products required
  •  Experience with folding structures, outdoor furniture, or recreational products strongly preferred
Skills & Competencies
  •  Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes (tube forming, welding, finishing)
  •  Working knowledge of textile materials and sewing construction
  •  Experience with cost engineering, BOM analysis, and margin optimization
  •  Familiarity with DFM and product structure optimization
  •  Proficiency in Excel and data analysis; CAD experience is a plus
  •  Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
  •  Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams and global manufacturing environments
