Position Summary:
The Operations Trainer is responsible for establishing and maintaining a Training Center of Excellence. This role will develop, coordinate, and facilitate training programs for all levels of plant personnel, including shop floor operators, team leads, supervisors, managers, and salaried staff. Training topics will cover essential skills for working on the production line, 6S methodologies, continuous improvement concepts, and company policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 4-year College Degree in Business, Education, Industrial Management, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in training, learning & development, or a related field
  • Experience with training program development and implementation
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles
  • Proficiency in Windows, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the automotive or manufacturing industry
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience

Position Duties and Responsibilities / % Time Spent
  • Development and implementation of training programs: 25%
  • Coaching and mentoring employees on processes and procedures: 60%
  • Continuous improvement and 6S training execution: 10%
  • Documentation and reporting on training effectiveness: 5%

Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to engage employees at all levels
  • Ability to assess training effectiveness and adjust programs accordingly
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • May oversee & guide training personnel or support staff involved in training programs

Software:
  • Basic experience required in Windows, MSWord, Excel, and PowerPoint
