Our pet food factory in Zanesville is favorably located along the banks of the Muskingum River in scenic east-central Ohio halfway between Columbus and Wheeling, West Virginia. This 100-year-old facility was acquired by Nestlé Purina in 1987 and has since evolved to incorporate our innovative portfolio of products, processes, and technical equipment.

Position Summary:
As a Quality Technician you will serve as a safety and quality ambassador. Quality Technicians play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of quality operations. This position involves overseeing ingredient management, formulation processes, product safety, and adherence to release criteria. You will provide essential technical support during production, actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, and uphold our core values of safety and quality.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide operational support and improvement activities, including QA checks, problem-solving, project implementation, and standard creation and revision
  • Ensure effective quality operations, including ingredient management, formulation, product safety, and compliance with release criteria
  • Lead daily sensory product program, and maintain finished product reference samples and photo standards
  • Enter results of QA testing into appropriate division Quality Assurance databases
  • Provide coaching and training for factory associates regarding QA requirements, expectations, and quality and food safety checks

Basic Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree in science related field (Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, related technical field) strongly preferred
• 1+ years experience working in a food manufacturing environment OR quality assurance experience
The approximate pay range for this position is $44,030 - $63,460. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
