This position oversees maintenance, repairs, engineering services, and construction projects while ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for patients, employees, medical staff, and visitors.The Director will ensure that facilities operations comply with organizational policies and procedures, applicable State Department of Public Health requirements, regulatory standards, and other applicable local, state, and governmental requirements.This position also has direct responsibility for the planning, coordination, and oversight of hospital construction projects, from initial planning through completion.Position DetailsPosition: Director of Facilities ManagementDepartment:AdministrationLocation: Gateway Regional Medical Center, 2100 Madison Avenue, Granite City, IL 62040Position Status: Full-TimeSalary Range: $98,971.68-$148,457.51 annuallyKey ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership and direction for the Engineering and Biomedical Engineering departments.Plan, coordinate, and oversee facility maintenance, repairs, and engineering services.Ensure hospital and clinic facilities operate safely, efficiently, and effectively.Maintain a safe, clean, comfortable, and functional environment for patients, employees, medical staff, and visitors.Ensure facilities operations comply with applicable regulatory, safety, and governmental requirements.Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programs for hospital infrastructure and equipment.Oversee facility-related inspections, testing, repairs, and corrective actions.Coordinate with hospital leadership, clinical departments, vendors, contractors, and regulatory agencies as necessary.Direct and oversee construction and renovation projects, including project planning, coordination, scheduling, and completion.Monitor construction projects to ensure compliance with organizational requirements, applicable codes, safety standards, budgets, and timelines.Assist with developing and managing departmental budgets and identifying opportunities for cost-effective operations.Establish and maintain departmental policies, procedures, and standards.Respond to facility emergencies and coordinate appropriate corrective measures.Supervise, evaluate, and develop department staff.Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and excellent customer service.Perform other duties as assigned.Education QualificationsRequired:High school diploma or GED.Preferred:Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.Experience QualificationsMinimum of seven (7) years of experience in a large hospital or healthcare facility.Previous experience in facilities management, hospital engineering, or a related healthcare environment.Experience overseeing facility operations, maintenance, and construction projects.Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience preferred.Knowledge of healthcare facility regulations, safety requirements, and applicable building and life-safety standards preferred.Skills & CompetenciesStrong leadership and organizational skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Ability to work effectively with hospital leadership, clinical staff, contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies.Knowledge of hospital infrastructure, building systems, maintenance, and facility operations.Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.Company BenefitsGateway Regional Medical Center offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support our employees and their families, including:Competitive salary and performance-based incentivesComprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance View GuideRetirement savings plan with employer matchingPaid vacation and holidaysSupportive and inclusive work environmentCompensation DisclaimerPay is determined based on various factors, including education, years of experience, relevant certifications, specialized skills, internal equity, and other qualifications related to the position.
