What the role is about:
The Facilities & Maintenance Technician II plays an important role in maintaining safe, functional, and high-performing facilities across the company. This position performs all duties of a Facilities Technician I, while also handling advanced maintenance tasks and equipment-level repairs. The Technician II helps ensure facilities remain visually appealing, safe, and operational through hands-on maintenance work such as painting, patching, carpentry, minor plumbing and electrical repairs, and troubleshooting facility equipment. This role is focused on completing both routine and complex maintenance tasks in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and compliance requirements, while providing reliable, professional support to internal clients. By addressing day-to-day and more technical maintenance needs, and assisting other technicians when needed, the Facilities & Maintenance Technician II contributes to safe, efficient, and well-maintained environments for employees, customers, and partners.
What impact you’ll make: 
Facility Maintenance (60%)
  • Perform all routine facility maintenance tasks of a Facilities Technician I, including:
  • Painting, drywall patching, caulking, minor carpentry, fixture replacement, and general upkeep
  • Conducting walkthroughs and inspections to proactively identify maintenance needs, safety risks, or compliance gaps
  • Responding to maintenance requests promptly and professionally, escalating more complex issues as necessary
  • Diagnose and repair advanced structural, mechanical, and facility system issues beyond basic maintenance scope, ensuring safe, compliant, and durable solutions
  • Perform equipment-level maintenance and repairs on facility-related systems, including HVAC, pumps, motors, or other operational equipment, following SOPs and manufacturer guidelines
  • Conduct intermediate plumbing and electrical repairs, including replacing fixtures on larger systems, repairing small-scale piping or wiring issues, troubleshooting minor circuit or system malfunctions, and performing component adjustments or maintenance beyond basic upkeep
Client Support & Project Work (25%)
  • Respond to maintenance requests promptly and professionally, ensuring work is completed in alignment with SOPs, safety standards, and operational requirements.
  • Support facility projects such as carpentry, painting, drywall repair, fixture installation, and minor renovations while maintaining compliance with building standards and internal policies.
  • Complete small-scale improvement projects (e.g., restroom refreshes, office modifications, fixture replacements) with attention to detail, quality workmanship, and adherence to established procedures.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to plan and execute maintenance work in a manner that minimizes operational disruption and maintains compliance.
  • Serve as an escalation point for advanced maintenance issues, providing technical guidance and support to Facilities Technician I staff.
  • Serve as a professional representative of the Facilities team, demonstrating a customer-focused approach while upholding company standards and compliance expectations.
Safety, Compliance, & Documentation (10%)
  • Consistently follow all Standard Operating Procedures, safety protocols, and compliance requirements related to facility maintenance and site operations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of completed work, inspections, and identified issues in accordance with recordkeeping standards.
  • Participate in required safety, compliance, and SOP training to remain current on policies and expectations.
  • Support audit readiness by maintaining clean workspaces, compliant repairs, and proper documentation.
  • Promote a safety-first mindset and proactively report hazards or compliance concerns.
Training, Coaching, & Team Support (5%)
  • Provide hands-on training, mentorship, and technical guidance to Facilities Technician I staff.
  • Assist with onboarding new technicians, reinforcing SOPs, safety protocols, and quality standards.
  • Share best practices, troubleshooting techniques, and preventative maintenance strategies with junior team members.
  • Support leadership in identifying skill gaps and recommending development or training opportunities.
