Summary

NAES Technical Field Advisor (TFA) provides technical direction and advisory services supporting fleet equipment installation, start up and major overhaul services. This role is responsible for providing the technical field direction or professional opinions on heavy industrial equipment (i.e., gas turbines, steam, turbines, generators, compressors, pumps, motors, etc.). The TFA is considered the field liaison between customer, equipment conditions, and engineering support. In addition to the TFAs technical equipment knowledge, they are also responsible for the planning, scheduling and defining of projects and scopes of work. 

Primary Duties

• Provide Advisory Services and Technical Direction for major maintenance start-up and commissioning projects
• Project planning, scheduling, and estimating for assigned work or in support of sales opportunities
• Complete status reports and technical reports (i.e., recording on critical measurements)
• Provide professional guidance related to critical measurements and acceptance criteria major as defined by OEMs or based on industry specified best practice
• Participate in project planning and project execution meetings
• Awareness around NAES site safety program and responsibility to ensure these procedures are followed during all work activities
• Support business development activities to contribute to customer satisfaction

Working Relationships

• NAES TFAs report to department heads within the Engineered Performance Division

Compensation 

The initial annual compensation will range from $178,900 to $205,750 based on experience and qualifications.

Job Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or equivalent. Engineering Degree is (preferred).  Relevant work experience and technical competencies may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis
• Years of Experience: 10+ years of relevant work experience
• Preferred Experience: Providing technical advice and direction for heavy industrial rotating equipment. Specific experience with gas turbines, steam turbines and generators, experience with major OEM equipment (GE, Siemens, Westinghouse, Alstom) is preferred
• Licenses/Certification: OSHA safety certifications and other relevant licenses and certifications. Preferably OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certified
• Software/Equipment Knowledge: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. Preferred experience with Microsoft Project

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Work hours are dependent on project plan coinciding with industry standards. This could include weekend work, alternate shifts and other extended hours may be required based on specific requirements.  Ground and air travel is required for this position. Ability to travel up to 50-60% is required.  Work is performed at an established home office environment or headquarters office, and on industrial sites that require protective clothing and equipment.  Work at facilities can occur around industrial hazards, in areas of high noise levels, and around new construction. Physical mobility to transverse stairways, ladders, grating, and uneven terrain are essential. Ability to see, hear, read, and react to warning signs, lights, and alarms are essential.

Fit for Duty

All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.
