Job description

Service Wire Company, a premier supplier of industrial and utility wire and cable, is currently seeking a 3rd shift General Helper in Culloden, WV. If you are looking to join a great organization and a chance to become a part of our growing team, this may be the opportunity for you!
 
Position Summary:
Our General Helpers supports facility operations by performing a wide range of manual tasks to ensure a clean, organized, and efficient work environment. This includes distributing supplies, assisting with routine maintenance, and completing general cleaning and painting projects throughout the facility. The role requires safe use of tools, ladders, and floor cleaning equipment, and supports both Facilities and Engineering teams as needed.
 
Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Distribution and racking of supplies and parts to various departments
  • General cleaning duties to include sweeping, mopping, wiping down equipment as needed
  • Painting fixtures, floor markings, walls, and equipment
  • Seasonal cleaning indoor and outdoors at facilities
  • Complete facilities related projects as assigned by Facilities and/or Engineering
  • Safely utilize ladders and similar equipment
  • Regularly operate floor sweeper and clean throughout the facility
  • Assist with routine maintenance tasks
  • Additional duties as assigned 
Knowledge/Skills/Requirements:
  • High school diploma/GED (General Equivalency Diploma) or one year related industrial experience or equivalent training
  • Ability to use and care for common hand tools
  • Demonstrate strong basic math and measuring skills
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and respond to general instructions, direction, and correspondence, both oral and written
  • Cooperatively works and interacts with various departments
  • Regularly stands, bends, and reaches for extended periods
  • Regularly moves about the facility
  • Personal protective equipment is required
  • Continuous participation in company safety training
Physical Demands/Work Environment
  • Work environment is comparable to outdoor temperatures
  • Regularly stands, bends, and reaches for extended periods

  • Regularly lifts and moves materials up to 50 pounds
  • Occasionally required to move up to 100 pounds by pushing, pulling, or sliding material. Assistance provided as needed.
  • Must be able to work in hot and cold environments without climate-control.

  • Must be available to work 10:30pm - 7am.
