Job description

Job Description

As a Tech Lead Engineer, you are a senior technical leader responsible for driving the successful execution of Elite's product and platform roadmap. You combine deep hands-on engineering expertise with strong technical leadership, guiding architecture decisions, mentoring engineers, and ensuring high standards across the software development lifecycle.

You will lead complex technical initiatives end-to-end, partner closely with Product and Engineering leadership, and serve as a role model for engineering excellence. This role requires someone who is execution-oriented, quality-driven, and passionate about building scalable, secure, cloud-native SaaS solutions in a high-performing environment.

Work Arrangement: Remote

This role requires the individual to be based in Flexible across U.S. time zones.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide technical leadership for complex, high-impact initiatives, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with product and business objectives.
  • Lead system and component-level architecture design in partnership with engineers and architects.
  • Own end-to-end technical execution for key projects, from design through delivery, proactively managing risks and dependencies.
  • Translate high-level designs into well-scoped tasks, estimates, and implementation plans.
  • Design, implement, and evolve cloud-native architectures using modern patterns (microservices, event-driven systems, API-first design), technologies and tools.
  • Set and enforce high engineering standards through code reviews, CI/CD, testing, TDD, observability, and DevOps practices.
  • Build, prioritize, and manage technical debt and drive performance, scalability, and reliability improvements using data-driven insights.
  • Mentor and coach engineers, fostering strong engineering judgment, collaboration, ownership, continuous learning and skill development.
  • Partner closely with Product Managers, UX, QA, Security, and Infrastructure teams to deliver solutions that meet functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Clearly communicate technical trade-offs, risks, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support alignment between product priorities and technical execution, ensuring predictable, high-quality delivery.
  • Remain deeply hands-on, contributing with high-quality, production-ready code for critical components and complex problem areas.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, applying strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Continuously evaluate and adopt modern technologies and tools that improve system reliability and team effectiveness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and company objectives.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related STEM field, or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of professional software development experience building complex, scalable business applications.
  • Expert-level proficiency in the Microsoft stack, including C# / .NET Core and Angular.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure cloud services, including Durable Functions, App Services, Event Hubs, API Management, Azure AD, Key Vault, Blob Storage, AKS, and Service Fabric.
  • Proven experience designing and operating distributed systems, microservices, and RESTful APIs (including ODATA).
  • Deep experience with CI/CD pipelines (YAML), Git, Azure DevOps or GitHub, and modern DevOps practices.
  • Strong database experience with SQL Server, Azure SQL, and Cosmos DB, including performance tuning and scalability.
  • Vast experience with automated testing frameworks, TDD, and quality-driven development practices.
  • Excellent familiarity with a variety of automation concepts - unit, integration, end to end testing, as well as enforcement of testing best practices for full stack applications.
  • Familiarity with ERP, financial, or mission-critical SaaS platforms is a strong plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a pragmatic, data-driven approach.
  • Strong communication and influence skills, with the ability to lead through expertise rather than authority.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with a demonstrated commitment to engineering excellence and professional growth.
  • Ability to travel up <10% as business needs require
  • Role requires the following physical capacity: Sedentary: primarily desk/computer work
  • Must be legally authorized to work in United States; Elite does not provide employment sponsorship for this position

Benefits:
