Job description

The Chief R&O Inspector reports to the Director of Quality and is responsible for regulatory compliance and quality control activities necessary to ensure the airworthiness of articles maintained by the Repair Station. The Chief Inspector has final authority for the release of articles to service within the scope of the Repair Station's Air Agency Certificate and serves as the primary point of contact with the FAA Administrator regarding inspection and regulatory matters


  • Ensure all inspections are properly performed and that inspection records, reports, and required forms are accurately completed prior to releasing products for return to service. 
  • Perform final inspections using current and approved technical data and applicable Repair Station procedures. 
  • Ensure repair, overhaul, inspection, and testing activities comply with applicable FAA, EASA, UK CAA, customer, and Repair Station requirements. 
  • Maintain current FAA regulations, specifications, Airworthiness Directives, technical data, manuals, and other required regulatory documentation. 
  • Verify that current and approved technical data is available and used for all repairs, overhauls, inspections, and testing. 
  • Ensure defective, unserviceable, or unairworthy parts are properly identified, controlled, and not installed in products released by the Repair Station. 
  • Complete and submit required FAA reports and documentation, including FAA Form 8010-4 and FAA Form 337, when applicable. 
  • Perform and/or assist with final acceptance of parts, components, and articles, including work performed outside the Repair Station. 
  • Ensure proper identification, tagging, traceability, handling, preservation, and control of parts and components. 
  • Maintain accurate and accessible job packages, inspection records, training records, rosters, and other required Repair Station documentation. 
  • Support the Repair Station Training Program and maintain required training records and documentation. 
  • Ensure inspection and test equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and documented in accordance with the calibration program. 
  • Maintain current Repair Station manuals, procedures, Safety Management System (SMS), EASA/UK documentation, and Capability List. 
  • Participate in internal evaluations, customer and regulatory audits, corrective actions, and technical investigations. 
  • Work with customers, OEMs, and engineering personnel on technical issues and evaluations. 
  • Ensure proper handling and preservation of parts and components during and after testing. 
  • Maintain continuity of inspection activities and communicate outstanding inspection requirements when


Education and Experience:

Required:

  • A&P (Airframe and Powerplant) License 
  • 5 years of Federal Aviation Regulations
  • 3 years of Quality Inspection experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

 

Preferred:

  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 Wire Harness Assemblies Certification
  • Experience with electromechanical assemblies and cable harnesses. 
  • Experience with Honeywell product. 
  • Strong leadership traits with a focus on good communication and interpersonal skills.
