Certified Medical Assistant-Optometry

Location: Craig, Alaska
Pay Rate: $40/hr – $44/hr
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Experience: Minimum 1 year Medical Assistant experience required

About the Role
We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for an optometry clinic opportunity in Craig, Alaska. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented Medical Assistant with strong patient care, communication, documentation, and customer service skills who can support eye care services for patients of all ages.

Responsibilities

  • Room and screen patients for optometry providers

  • Perform optical support tasks and point-of-care lab testing

  • Assist with ocular imaging, including photos, OCT, visual fields, and topography

  • Enter images and documentation into the medical record for provider review

  • Assist patients with optical orders, frame selection, measurements, payments, and dispensing

  • Support glasses and contact lens adjustments, repairs, and warranty replacements

  • Assist with inventory management, ordering, returns, and frame placement

  • Support referrals, recall tracking, scheduling, phones, and patient paperwork

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and timely documentation

Requirements

  • National Medical Assistant certification required

  • CMA, CCMA, or RMA accepted

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • BLS/BCLS required

  • Minimum 1 year Medical Assistant experience required

  • Strong customer service, organization, and attention to detail required
