Job Summary

The Financial Reporting Manager oversees the financial reporting team and manages key corporate accounting activities, including financial statements, journal entries, reconciliations, intercompany eliminations, cost allocations, and account analysis. This role ensures timely monthly close and accurate financial reporting, reviews financial statements and audit deliverables, addresses accounting issues, and leads process improvements and efficiencies.

Job Description
  • Review business transactions to ensure activity is accurately reflected in the general ledger
  • Research, develop, and implement accounting procedures and processes in accordance with GAAP requirements
  • Advise employees on GAAP requirements and provide accounting guidance
  • Prepare and present analytical evaluations of account fluctuations on a monthly and annual basis
  • Evaluate new disclosure requirements for annual financial reports
  • Review journal entries, reconciliations, overhead analyses, and AP corrections prepared by the financial reporting team
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of audit-related deliverables for year-end financial statement audits
  • Manage the financial reporting team’s involvement in system testing for regular patches and upgrades
  • Supervise, train, coach, and counsel staff to maximize performance and improve services
  • Support recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and annual performance reviews
  • Respond to accounting questions and resolve discrepancies
  • Serve as a technical advisor by providing senior-level input, evaluation, and guidance on accounting matters
  • Prepare ad hoc reports for Accounting and Division Executive Management
  • Interpret and establish policies, procedures, and strategic goals
  • Support the development of departmental business plans
  • Determine departmental objectives and requirements, organize projects, and develop standards and guidelines
  • Attend project meetings as requested
  • Develop and implement department tools and workflows to improve efficiency
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Comply with all applicable policies and standards
Skills Required
  • Minimum 8 years of accounting experience with significant experience and technical skills in financial reporting
  • Experience researching complex accounting issues
  • Experience in auditing or serving as a key audit contact
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent oral and written communication and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly present complex information to employees, management, and clients at all levels
  • Ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change
  • Strong project management skills and a strategic perspective
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred
Education/Training/Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
