Job description

Stoughton Health has an excellent opportunity for a Certified Nursing Assistant to join our Day Surgery team on a Full-Time basis.
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) supports nursing staff in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals undergoing same-day surgical or procedural interventions. The CNA performs delegated clinical and non-clinical tasks under the direction and supervision of licensed nursing personnel, ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients in our Day Surgery and Ambulatory Surgery Center.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist with patient preparation for surgery, including gowning, hygiene, and transport.
  • Support post-operative recovery by helping patients with ambulation, toileting, and comfort measures.
  • Take and record vital signs, weight, height, and blood glucose.
  • Monitor patients for non-clinical concerns and promptly report changes in condition to nursing staff.
  • Provide support and reassurance to patients and families.
  • Assist in turnover and cleaning of pre-op and post-op bays between patients
  • Restock of supplies in patient care areas
  • Maintain cleanliness and infection control standards in all patient contact areas
  • Transport specimens to the lab 


Position Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant training program
  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • Prefer previous experience in a hospital /Day Surgery/AIC
  • BLS certification 
  • Non-violent crisis intervention or workplace violence training every two years on a rolling calendar
  • Computer Competency: Basic Computer Skills are expected for this position
  • Microsoft Office Suite Skills: Beginning Skills – Able to perform basic things such as opening a document, change font, save a document, write a letter.

Work Shift:

    • Full Time, 1.0 FTE
    • Position to begin mid-September 2026
    • 40 Hours Per Week
    • Monday - Friday
    • 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
