Position Summary 

The Youth Program Assistant (YPA) Intern supports dynamic programming for youth who have experienced homelessness, helping create opportunities for learning, growth, and connection. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about youth development and community impact.

YPAs design and lead engaging enrichment activities based on their interests and strengths while fostering positive relationships with youth, families, and community partners. Through mentorship and encouragement, they help create a safe, supportive environment where young people can build confidence and thrive.

✅What You’ll Do

  • Work with staff, volunteers, and program partners to deliver program sessions
  • Plan, prep and facilitate age-appropriate enrichment activities for youth
  • Serve as a role model to youth through consistent attendance and reliability 
  • Assist with behavior management and redirection as needed 
  • Assist with other projects as assigned 

What You Bring

  • Self-starter and self-directed, ability to work independently on assigned projects
  • Experience with youth (after-school program, camp counseling, tutoring, etc.)
  • Able to work with people from diverse backgrounds and engage diverse youth
  • Ability to adhere to HIPPAA and data privacy requirements
  • Willingness to work on site and directly with youth
  • Ability to commit to full school-year term (Sept. 2026 – May 2027)

Salary: $17 per hour
