General Information

This position is a full-time, temporary position serving the 90th Legislative Session to end May 25, 2027. This position may have the potential to transition into a full-time, regular role. **
The Fiscal and Performance Review Coordination Analyst manages assignments in the fiscal note and other agency processes, facilitates the flow of information through those processes, and performs research, analysis, and evaluation to support legislative deliberations.
The position reports to the Fiscal and Performance Review Coordination Manager and works under limited supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Coordinate, draft, and review fiscal notes (written estimates of the costs, savings, revenue gains, or revenue losses that may result from implementation of a bill or joint resolution) and contribute to budget and legislative support projects.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to effectively support legislative deliberations and agency success.
  • Communicate effectively with a variety of audiences including, but not limited to, LBB staff and management, legislators, legislative staff, agency personnel, and the general public.
  • Promote sound qualitative and quantitative analysis and make effective recommendations.
  • Communicate effectively by adequately simplifying and translating complex data and providing high level summaries and options for a variety of audiences. Use language appropriate for audience.
  • Contribute to or complete additional assignments that meet agency or legislative needs.

Experience and Education:
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major or minor related to the work of the LBB, including but not limited to: Economics, Public Administration, Government, Political Science, or Public Affairs required.
  • Graduate degree or two years of relevant professional experience preferred.
