Job description

No Experience? No Problem. We'll Teach You the Trade, Starting in the Express Lane.

Twin Falls Chevrolet, the Magic Valley's #1 Volume Chevrolet Retailer and Home of the $59.95 Oil Change, is hiring Express Service Technicians, and you do not need any experience to apply. If you are reliable, good with your hands, and genuinely want to learn, we will teach you the rest and pay you while we do it. This is one of the best ways there is to get your foot in the door of the automotive trade and build a real career.

Our express lane is where a lot of great technicians got their start. You will be the person handling the oil changes, tire rotations, and quick services that keep the Magic Valley on the road, including the famous $59.95 oil change our customers drive across town for. Do this job well and there is a clear path from here to full-line technician and beyond.

What You'd Actually Be Doing

You will start with the fundamentals and grow from there. A typical day is some mix of this:

  • Performing oil and filter changes, including our signature $59.95 oil change, quickly and correctly
  • Rotating tires, checking tire pressure, and topping off or exchanging fluids
  • Replacing wiper blades, air filters, batteries, and bulbs
  • Doing honest multi-point inspections and telling the service advisor exactly what you found, so the customer hears the truth about their vehicle
  • Resetting service reminders and keeping clean notes on the work you did
  • Keeping your bay clean, safe, and ready for the next vehicle
  • Learning from our experienced technicians as you take on more knowledge and responsibility

You will not be thrown to the wolves. We start you on the basics, we train you, and we hand you more as you show you are ready.

No Experience Required. Here's What Actually Matters.

We can teach the mechanical skills. What we are really looking for is simpler than a resume:

  • You show up on time, every day, and people can count on you
  • You are willing to learn and take direction from the techs and team members training you
  • You are careful and take pride in doing the job right, not just fast
  • You are comfortable on your feet and working with your hands all day
  • You want this to become a career, not just a paycheck

If you have wrenched on your own cars, worked at a quick-lube or tire shop, or come from a hands-on job like warehouse, construction, farm, or kitchen work, that is a great head start. But none of it is required. A willingness to learn is. And you do not need to show up with a big tool box. We will talk through what you need to get started.

Paid Training and a Real Path Up

This is a starting line, not a dead end.

  • We pay you while we train you. No separate schooling required to begin.
  • You will get paid Chevrolet and GM training as you grow.
  • As you build speed, skill, and certifications, your pay grows with you.
  • The proven path from here is express tech, to full-line technician, to senior tech and shop foreman.
  • A lot of our best people started right here in the express lane.

ASE certification is a nice bonus if you earn it down the road, but it is not required to apply. We will help you work toward Chevrolet, GM, and ASE certifications over time.

The Pay

Starting pay is hourly and based on what you bring, and it grows as you get faster, take on more, and earn certifications. We are the #1 volume Chevy store in the Magic Valley, so the work is steady and the opportunity is real. We will walk you through the full pay plan, with real numbers, in the interview.

Benefits

On top of pay, our full-time team gets:

  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer match
  • Health and dental insurance with employer contribution
  • Paid Chevrolet and GM technical training
  • Monetary assistance toward any vehicle you lease through our dealerships
  • Great discounts when you purchase or lease a new vehicle through our local stores
  • Potentially lucrative trade in policy
  • A clear path to grow into full-line technician, senior tech, shop foreman, or wherever you want to take it
  • And more

A Few Basics

To keep everybody safe and the lane moving, you will need to:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Carry a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, since you will be moving vehicles in and out of the bays
  • Be able to stand, bend, and lift throughout your shift
  • Get to work reliably and keep a strong attendance habit
