Job description

An Express Tech performs oil changes and lubricates moving parts of vehicles while in training with skilled technicians.

As with all positions within dealerships, express tech are expected to uphold the highest ethical standards.

The duties of an Express Tech include:

  • Making sure moving parts are lubricated if needed.
  • Injecting grease into units, such as springs, universal joints, and steering knuckles, using a hand-or compressed air-powered grease gun.
  • Inspecting fluid level of steering gears, power steering reservoirs, transmissions differentials, rear axle housings, and shackles.
  • Checking air pressure of tires, adding water to the radiator, testing the battery, replacing oil and air filters, and spraying springs with lubricant.
  • Draining oil and refilling crankcase with the right amount of new lubricant. 
  • Working alongside a skilled technician to learn how to perform quality vehicle service maintenance repairs.

Job Requirements

Express Technician should possess mechanical aptitude and knowledge of how automobiles work.  Experience working on motor vehicles in the Armed Forces or as a hobby is also valuable.

A valid driver's license with a good driving record is needed for this position.
