Job description

Buckley Powder Company – Littleton, CO

Buckley Powder is seeking hard‑working, safety‑focused, full‑time Class A CDL Hazmat Drivers—or Driver Trainees with a clean MVR—to join our team. We offer excellent pay, full benefits, year‑round work, and the opportunity to build a long‑term career in the explosives and mining industry.

Schedule
  • Monday–Friday

  • 50–60 hours per week

  • Home daily

  • Day shift, no nights

  • Overtime available

  • Start times vary


Position Overview

As a CDL Bulk Truck Operator, you will:

  • Handle packaged explosive products

  • Load and drive bulk trucks

  • Operate pumping units on job sites

  • Assist blasters with loading and stemming blast holes

  • Perform routine truck maintenance and keep units clean

This is a hands‑on, outdoor role requiring physical activity in all weather conditions, including lifting 50+ lbs, bending, squatting, and working closely with a blasting crew. With time and experience, there are strong opportunities for career advancement.


Qualifications
  • Valid Class A CDL with Hazmat, Tanker, and Air Brake endorsements

    • Preferred, but we will train the right candidate

    • Must be able to obtain CDL + Hazmat within 6 months of hire

  • Must meet all State and Federal explosive regulations and qualify as an ATF explosive possessor

  • Ability to pass a drug test, background check, and maintain a clean MVR

  • Reliable, customer‑oriented, and safety‑focused

  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions

  • Able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, and company procedures


Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations

  • Safely operate assigned equipment

  • Maintain vehicles: refuel, wash, and perform basic upkeep

  • Load/unload trucks and maintain accurate inventory

  • Work with a crew on customer job sites

  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, incidents, or violations immediately


Compensation
  • $27.00 – $33.00 per hour, depending on experience
