Director of Project Management

Salary range $140,000 - 200,000

Reporting to the President & CEO, the Director of Project Management will oversee the execution of PowerON’s $500 million pipeline of major electrical projects. A key player on PowerON’s leadership team, the Director is responsible for a large team of project managers and project controls professionals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the development and execution of PowerON’s electrification portfolio throughout all project life cycle phases including front-end planning, execution and project controls

  • Apply a customer focused approach to develop and execute charging solutions on time and on budget

  • Manage a team developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility

  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders

  • Coordinate and manage internal resources and third parties/vendors for the execution of projects

  • Plan resource availability and allocation

  • Ensure that all projects are delivered safely, on-time, within budget and with quality

  • Develop detailed project management plans and reporting tools to track progress

  • Ensure compliance with commercial and project management framework

  • Implement project controls processes to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs in accordance with project management industry best practices

  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques

  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks

  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors

  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

  • Work with the Business Development team supporting new business development initiatives

  • Ensure compliance with corporate safety programs and policies and communicate safety issues/concerns

  • Develop a climate which encourages the participation and involvement of all employees to continuously improve processes and systems.

  • Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University Degree in Engineering, Business or related field.

  • MBA is an asset

  • PMP is an asset

  • 10+ years of experience in construction and project management

  • Direct experience managing electrical projects involving, solar, batteries, generation, substations or electric vehicle charging

  • Technical knowledge of EV charging, battery storage and other electrical equipment as well as energy management systems.

  • Strong business acumen to develop and execute profitable projects and contribute to PowerON’s business strategy.

  • Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and leadership skills to motivate your team.
