We have partnered with a large nonprofit CPA firm in Deerfield, IL to provide them with an Audit Associate.  Please review the description below and let us know if you are interested.

Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Audit Associate:

#1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting completed prior to employment start date

#2. CPA certification in progress, actively pursuing CPA, or clear intention to pursue CPA designation

#3. Up to 3 years of public accounting experience and/or relevant public accounting internship experience

#4. Exposure to nonprofit organizations, nonprofit accounting, nonprofit audits, or Form 990-related work

#5. Working knowledge of GAAP, audit procedures, and financial reporting principles with strong communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities of the Audit Associate:

  • Assist with audits, reviews, and compilations under supervision of Audit Seniors and Managers
  • Participate in nonprofit and not-for-profit audit engagements
  • Prepare and organize audit work papers and supporting documentation
  • Assist with preparation of financial statements and footnote disclosures
  • Support audit planning, budgets, and engagement administration activities
  • Support preparation of Form 990 information returns for nonprofit organizations
  • Research accounting and audit concepts and communicate findings appropriately
  • Build and maintain strong client and internal relationships
  • Communicate engagement status and issues effectively
  • Participate in training and ongoing professional development

Requirements of the Audit Associate:

  • CPA certification or active CPA candidate status strongly preferred
  • Public accounting internship experience
