FeatureExpedited DriversDelivery Drivers
CredentialsValid driver’s license, clean driving recordValid driver’s license, sometimes specific vehicle certifications
Work EnvironmentFast-paced, time-sensitive deliveries, often long hoursRoutine deliveries, flexible schedules, local or regional routes
Industry UsageLogistics, freight, urgent shipmentsFood, retail, parcel delivery

Expedited Drivers focus on urgent, time-sensitive shipments requiring quick delivery, often in freight or logistics industries. Maintaining a flexible schedule and good communication skills are important for success in this role.

This is accomplished by building and nurturing a workforce of exceptional employees. We recruit top talent by offering an exceptional employment package and fostering a supportive culture and pleasant working environment.
Summary: The Manufacturing Flow Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and expediting the flow of materials, parts, and information throughout the assembly, paint, shipping, and receiving processes to ensure production schedules and customer delivery commitments are achieved. This position serves as a key link between departments by monitoring work-in-process, identifying shortages and bottlenecks, communicating priorities, and driving timely follow-up to keep jobs moving through the manufacturing process.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Coordinate and expedite the movement of materials, parts, and assemblies between assembly, paint, shipping, receiving, and other production departments.
  • Maintain ownership of production priorities and parts pick lists to ensure sequencing is accurate, visible, and aligned with customer and production requirements.
  • Monitor work-in-process and critical jobs to identify delays, shortages, quality holds, missing components, or schedule risks.
  • Work directly with material handlers, supervisors, department leads, planners, and production personnel to verify part status and resolve issues that could delay production or shipment.
  • Follow up on open actions to ensure parts are picked, staged, moved, painted, assembled, inspected, and shipped according to schedule.
  • Assist in resolving bottlenecks impacting assembly completion, paint throughput, shipping readiness, and overall production flow.
  • Communicate production constraints and priority changes in real time to Production Control and departmental leadership.
  • Review production priorities throughout the shift and adjust expediting efforts as business needs change.
  • Provide accurate and timely status updates regarding part availability, critical shortages, production progress, and shipment readiness.
  • Attend production, scheduling, and operations meetings and prepare accurate status reports, updates, action-item tracking, and supporting materials for discussion.
  • Analyze recurring delays and recommend process improvements that improve throughput, reduce downtime, and increase schedule attainment.
  • Maintain organized records, paperwork, and production information to minimize confusion, duplication, and rework.
  • Assist with inventory-related investigations, material tracking, and production reporting as assigned.
  • Contribute to team success by performing other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Travel to customer, supplier, job site, and company locations as required.
  • Operate a personal or company-owned vehicle for business purposes.
  • Transport documents, equipment, parts, materials, or other business-related items as needed.
  • Maintain authorization as a Company Driver in accordance with company policy.

Education and/or Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing, production control, material handling, assembly, logistics, paint, shipping, or related shop-floor experience preferred.
  • Experience working in an ERP, MRP, inventory control, or manufacturing system preferred.
  • Experience in a custom manufacturing or heavy industrial environment preferred.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to read and interpret bills of material, pick lists, work orders, production schedules, routings, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional follow-up skills with a strong sense of urgency and accountability.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple competing demands in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to identify barriers and drive resolution through collaboration and persistence.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining alignment with production control priorities.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must meet and maintain Company Driver eligibility requirements and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Must maintain required automobile insurance when operating a personal vehicle for company business.
  • Ability to travel locally and occasionally overnight as business needs require.

Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent walking throughout manufacturing facilities and between departments.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Occasional climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and navigating industrial work areas.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to visually inspect materials, parts, paperwork, and computer screens.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in manufacturing and office environments.
  • Exposure to industrial noise, moving equipment, forklifts, and varying temeratures; required PPE must be worn as applicable.
