Exercise Physiologist Full Time Days Position Summary:
Leads patients in all disciplines of Cardio-Pulmonary Rehabilitation in accordance with current cardiac and pulmonary policies and procedures with an emphasis on cardiac and pulmonary health as it relates to exercise. Formulate and modify exercise prescriptions for new Cardio-Pulmonary Rehabilitation participants based on medical history and special needs.

What We're Looking For
  • Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. BS in Exercise Physiology or exercise related field
  • Experience: Rehabilitation experience as an Exercise Physiologist, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Progressing toward a ACSM exercise related certification within 1 yr (Certification Agreement signed upon hire), required.
  • Additional Skills (preferred):
    • Practical and theoretical knowledge of all phases of routine and critical cardiac and respiratory care, with an emphasis on adult, chronic disease management.
    • Abilities to perform decisively in critical situations and to incorporate many types of data.
    • Has the knowledge, skills and ability to interpret information to identify each patient's requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs.
    • Has the ability to supervise exercise, monitor patients during exercise, and modify exercise prescriptions for cardio-pulmonary patients, in conjunction with registered nurses and/or physician as needed.
    • Has effective communication and interpersonal skills to relate to patients, families, nurses, physicians and other department and hospital staff.
    • Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
