Job description

About the Position

We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide one-on-one outpatient physical therapy services in patients' homes.

This is a slow-build opportunity where your caseload will grow steadily as referrals increase, allowing you to establish yourself while maintaining scheduling flexibility.

You will work closely with an experienced interdisciplinary team to help patients improve mobility, reduce pain, restore function, and maximize independence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide physical therapy treatments under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.

  • Implement individualized treatment programs designed to improve strength, balance, mobility, endurance, gait, and functional independence.

  • Monitor patient progress and communicate changes with the supervising Physical Therapist.

  • Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, fall prevention, and safety.

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and caregivers.

  • Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.

  • Manage a flexible home visit schedule across the assigned service area.

Qualifications

  • Current Texas PTA license

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

  • Home health experience preferred; outpatient, inpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or acute care experience also considered

  • Reliable transportation

  • Willingness to travel throughout the assigned service area

  • Experience treating orthopedic, neurological, post-surgical, and geriatric patients preferred

  • Strong communication and documentation skills

  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach

  • Comfortable with a gradually building caseload
