Job description

Find your calling at Mercy!The exercise technician is responsible for assisting members and guests in meeting physical capacity goals. The person in this position needs to be comfortable in effective positive communication with a varied population. Basic equipment maintenance and cleaning of any and all equipment in the facility is required daily. Assisting with hospital and community health fairs, walks and any other projects. This position requires adherence to a flexible work schedule based on facility usage.Position Details:

Hours/Schedule

Part-Time (24-hrs per week)

Education: High school diploma.
(Preferred) Experience: 6 months minimum in some type of customer service industry.
(Preferred) Certifications: CPR-AED Adult Child or above certification.
Other: Ability to effectively communicate with individuals or groups. Basic understanding of Microsoft word and excel. General knowledge of anatomy and physiology regarding exercise. Understands and practices the institutional Core Values of Dignity, Justice, Stewardship, Compassionate Service and Excellence. Requires a personal commitment to a fit and healthy lifestyle (appropriate role model).
Preferred Education: Associate of Arts or Science, Bachelor's in Health field.

Preferred Licensure: Certified personal trainer.
Preferred Experience: 1-3 years in group exercise or personal training.
Preferred Certifications (not Required): Nationally accredited certification, i.e.: ACE, ACSM, NSCA, NASM, AFAA, Cooper Clinic, etc. CPR.

Preferred Other: Ability to lead group classes. Ability to write and demonstrate effective weight loss and weight management programs to a wide demographic.
