Job description

Position Summary, Duties and Responsibilities Conduct fitness assessments and consultations to evaluate participant goals, fitness levels, and health history (as needed). Design and implement individualized and small-group exercise programs based on participant needs and goals. Instruct participants on proper exercise technique, equipment use, and safety procedures.

Monitor client progress and modify programs as appropriate. Provide motivation, encouragement, and education to promote long-term health and wellness. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized fitness and training environment.

Enforce recreation center policies, procedures, and safety standards. Maintain required certifications and participate in meetings, trainings, and professional development as requested. Provide excellent customer service and foster positive relationships with participants and coworkers.

Perform related duties and special projects as assigned. Job Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. Knowledge of principles of exercise science, fitness programming, and injury prevention.

Ability to demonstrate and teach exercises clearly and safely. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Time management and organizational skills.

Ability to motivate individuals of varying ages, fitness levels, and abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations.

Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends. Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification or ability to obtain prior to employment Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Coursework or degree in exercise science, kinesiology, or a related field preferred but not required.

Current nationally recognized Personal Trainer Certification (e.g., ACE, NASM, ACSM, NSCA) Work Environment Works primarily in a fitness facility setting. May include weight rooms, fitness studios, and exercise areas. May be exposed to loud noises, temperature variations, and occasional exposure to cleaning chemicals

May be required to perform physical actives such as standing, walking, lifting, and spotting clients. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
