Job description

Compensation: $16.80 - $21.00 per hour (based on years of experience)
Summary: TheExercise Specialist maintains the readiness of the therapy clinic and performspatient care activities as outlined in Oregon practice regulations (OAR) underthe direct supervision of a therapist or therapy assistant.
PrincipalResponsibilities:
1. Will participate and maintain a culture withinThe Corvallis Clinic that is consistent with the content outlined in theService and Behavioral Standards document. To this end, employee will be expected to read, have familiarity, andembrace the principles contained within.
2. Performs Level 1 PCE's from writteninstructions provided by the Physical Therapist as needed.
3. Maintains cleanliness of exercise equipmentand gym area.
4. Oversees the Clinic rehabilitation membershipmembers, including developing and implementing exercise programs.
5. Maintains clinicreadiness by stocking treatment supplies and cleaning of treatment areas andequipment.
6. Directs patient flow andprepare patients for therapy.
7. Assists therapist ortherapy assistant with direct patient care. Demonstrate competent use of modality equipment and exerciseequipment. Maintain proficiency ininstruction and monitoring of exercise programs.
8. Maintains clinictreatment records, posting of current transcription, ordering of medical records,x-ray, etc.
9. Maintains proficiency inthe use of clinic computer systems including but not limited to retrieval ofinformation or scheduling of patients.
10. Answers phones andassist with other process-oriented tasks including, but not limited to, authorizationof patients.
11. Improves the quality of care throughcontinuing education and self-evaluation of the effectiveness of care. This includes attendance/participation inmost in-services/department meetings and remaining current on department policiesand procedures.
12. Participates inorientation and training of new employees.
Education, Licensure and Experience:
1. Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science orrelated healthcare field required.
2. Previous experience as a CMA, therapy aide,EMT, or similar role preferred.
3. Background in anatomy, physiology, orkinesiology preferred.
4. Exercise Specialty Certification is highly preferred.
5. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationor ability to complete BLS certification within 90 days of hire required.
Knowledgeand Skills:
1. Intermediatecomputer skills.
2. Ability towork well with providers and other staff.
3. Ability towork on multiple tasks simultaneously in a busy, fast-paced environment whilemaintaining quality of work.
