Orono, Maine, where you'll provide high-quality, personalized care in both inpatient and outpatient settings-empowering patients on their road to recovery.
What You'll Do
Conduct Patient Assessments
- Evaluate physical function, mobility, and strength to develop customized treatment plans for patients across a wide range of diagnoses, from surgical recovery to chronic conditions.
Execute Rehabilitation Techniques
- Implement therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, mobility training, and equipment-assisted treatments to improve function and overall quality of life.
Track Patient Improvement
- Monitor patient outcomes, document progress, and modify treatment plans to ensure optimal recovery and safe discharge.
Collaborate with Healthcare Teams
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, case managers, and fellow rehab specialists to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care in a dynamic hospital setting.
Educate and Support Patients
- Provide patients and caregivers with guidance on home exercise programs, mobility strategies, and lifestyle modifications to maintain progress post-discharge.
Promote Long-Term Wellness
- Encourage early mobility, injury prevention, and physical activity as part of every patient's rehabilitation plan.
Qualifications
Education:
- Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent
- New graduates encouraged to apply
Licensure & Certification:
- Active Physical Therapist (PT) license in Maine
- Specialty certification in areas like orthopedics, geriatrics, or neuro is a plus
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in a hospital or clinical rehab setting preferred
- Strong assessment, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Comfortable managing diverse caseloads in a fast-paced environment
