Job Description

Purpose:

The Postdoctoral Researcher will be assigned specific duties and responsibilities pertaining to research activities by Principal Investigator or project leader. Normally, performs research activities of an independent nature in a technically/scientifically specific realm for a period of duration. May supervise other research personnel. Performs related duties as required. The nature of the duties are such that they require knowledge of an advanced type in a field of science or learning, are predominantly intellectual and varied in character, and require consistent exercise of discretion and judgment. An individual with this title will not be eligible to serve as a Principal Investigator (PI).

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research entailing QRA, process hazards reviews and process safety management systems.
  • Assist graduate and undergraduate students in research.
  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of the Center.
  • Create proposals to solicit funding and participate in presentations on behalf of the Center.
  • Undertake research related to process system safety analysis including fault detection and diagnosis.
  • Assist in organizing Center's supported workshop and symposiums
  • Assist in writing research proposal to secure funding.
  • Assist graduate and undergraduate students in writing research papers
  • Perform related duties as appropriate.

What we need:

  • PhD degree
  • No experience required

What is helpful:

  • PhD degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering; Oil and Gas Engineering; Ocean Engineering, or other engineering related field.
  • Experience in Systems modelling and analysis; process safety; risk engineering; reliability engineering.
