We are seeking a knowledgeable and conscientious Clinical Exercise Physiologist for this independent role in our Cardiac Rehabilitation Center. Our innovative and experienced team of cardiology specialists offers a full range of studies to diagnose multiple conditions affecting the heart. 

The Cardiac Rehabilitation Center at the Smidt Heart Institute gives cardiology patients tools to improve their health and fitness. Services include monitored exercise programs, nutrition advice and stress management. We are looking to supplement our staff with an Exercise Physiologist, who would assist the RN Rehabilitation Coordinator with the following:

  • Implements an appropriate exercise training program for participants
  • Assesses patient before, during and after exercise 
  • Exercise patient while monitoring EKG, oxygen saturations, Blood Pressure and Short of Breath and fatigue ratings 
  • Recognizes when premature termination is warranted and takes appropriate actions 
  • Revises/implements patient training sessions - tailors instructions to individual patient learning needs as indicated

Education:

  • Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science required

License/Certifications:

  • BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
  • ACLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross preferred or willing to obtain within one year from start date

Experience:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in Cardiac Rehab programs preferred
  • Previous experience in dysrhythmia detection and identification, Rehabilitation/Adult Fitness programs and designing exercise prescriptions preferred
