Raytheon's Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Surface Radars & Sensors Center is seeking Systems Engineers with interest or experience in ocean engineering and radar technologies. The Portsmouth, RI team supports programs across the naval undersea and surface domains, including sensor systems, mine countermeasures, submarines, torpedoes, combat systems, and ship architecture/integration. Engineers will perform system analysis, requirements development and management, hardware and software integration, test planning, test execution, interface evaluation, and requirements verification in support of system sell-off. Work includes laboratory and field-based activities to assess system performance and ensure readiness for delivery.
What You Will Do
  • Support planning and execution of Integration, Verification, or Test activities
  • Conduct requirement analysis to ensure system designs meet program objectives and customer needs
  • Support software/hardware integration efforts, collaborating with software teams to ensure seamless functionality
  • Develop and execute test runs to assess system performance under varied conditions
  • Detect and diagnose system failures, identify root causes, and propose corrective actions
  • Work across disciplines to develop and implement innovative solutions to complex challenges
  • Stay up to date with advancements in data analysis techniques, and Integration, Verification, or Test practices
  • Travel, both domestic and international, to support customer events, with an expected travel requirement not exceeding 25%

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience with system software, system hardware, system requirements and/or test
  • Experience with C++, Python, MATLAB and/or other programming languages

Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience developing and managing requirements using DOORS, Rhapsody, Cameo, or other digital engineering tools, including application of model-based and digital engineering practices
  • Experience working in integration labs, test facilities, or field environments supporting system integration and/or verification
  • Experience using Monte Carlo simulations to model system performance, analyze results, and inform test strategies
  • Experience diagnosing root causes of system failures, implementing corrective actions, and developing preventative measures
  • Experience presenting technical findings, analyses, and recommendations to leadership and customers

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
