We are actively hiring a Java Software Engineer with TS/SCI clearance and polygraph to support a program in Bethesda, MD.  As a Software Engineer on this program, you will have the opportunity to build strong systems, software, and cloud environments and provide operations and maintenance for critical systems. The candidate will provide technical support in the design, development, implementation and testing of customer tools and applications. Based in a DevOps framework, participate in major deliverables of projects through all aspects of the software development lifecycle including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding and unit testing.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Participate in software programming initiatives to support innovation and enhancement, using Java, JavaScript, Python, SpringBoot, Hibernate.
  • Assist with developing and directing software system validation, testing methods using Junit and Katalon and integrating custom developed software solutions to leverage automated deployment technologies 
  • Assist with developing, prototyping and deploying solutions within Commercial Cloud Solutions leveraging infrastructure platform services
  • Coordinate closely with team members, Product Owners and Scrum Masters to ensure User Story alignment and implementation to customer use cases
  • Support the Agile software development lifecycle following Program using industry leading DevOps tools like GitHub, Jenkins, Unix bash scripting, JIRA and Confluence to track activities
  • Document and perform systems software development, including deployment of build artifacts across different environments leveraging GitFlow constructs
  • Apply and identify best practices and standard operating procedures creating innovative solutions to meet the technical needs of customers.
Basic Qualifications
  • Familiar with common Agile practices, service-orientated environments, and development practices
  • Familiar with Java, Spring and C2S and the software development lifecycle, with experience delivering within DevOps toolsets/practices
  • Familiar with utilizing software testing performance tools, such as Junit/Katalon and scripting languages, such as Python and Bash, while working in an Agile development environment
  • Familiar with development in Commercial Cloud Platforms (ex, AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and leveraging cloud data services (ex: S3, RDS, EFS)
  • Familiar with using version control systems and issue/problem tracking systems
Education
  • HS diploma and at least 6 years of relevant experience; or BS degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience; or Masters degree and <2 years of relevant experience. 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiar with structured analysis and design methodologies
