What jobs can I get with HTML and CSS?

With HTML and CSS skills, you can qualify for roles such as front end developer, web designer, or UI developer, which involve creating and styling websites and user interfaces. These positions often require knowledge of JavaScript and responsive design, and may involve working with content management systems or frameworks like Bootstrap or React.

In summary, the main difference between Exempt and Non-Exempt Front End Developers lies in their pay structure and overtime eligibility, while their skills and work environments are generally similar.

Is HTML still used in 2026?

HTML remains a fundamental technology for front end developers, including those working with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. It is essential for structuring web pages and is continuously updated to support new features, making it a core skill for web development roles in 2026.

Is HTML, CSS, and JavaScript enough for front-end developer?

For an exempt front end developer role, proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is essential as they form the core skills for building user interfaces. However, additional skills such as version control, responsive design, and familiarity with frameworks like React or Angular are often required to meet job expectations and improve employability.

Will AI replace frontend devs?

AI tools can automate certain tasks in front end development, such as code generation and testing, but they are unlikely to fully replace front end developers who design user interfaces, implement complex interactions, and ensure accessibility. Front end developers will continue to be essential for creating customized, user-friendly websites and applications, often working alongside AI to improve efficiency. Skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks remain critical for the role.
