BRIEF POSTING DESCRIPTION:

The P CM METER READING Department of the P SUBSTATION & METER Division at Hawaiian Electric Company has 1 Bargaining Unit vacancy available. (Role: Non-Exempt)

JOB FUNCTION:

Provides clerical support for the Meter Reading Section.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Fundamental Responsibilities:

  • Assigns time-of-use cards to specific routes.
  • Forwards completed cartridges to proper department.
  • Processes mail-in cards of customer meters.
  • Monitors and maintains file of customer keys.
  • Updates and maintains meter reading records and files such as addresses, key vaults, angle sockets, etc.
  • Traces lost meters.
  • Answers telephone requests for information.
  • Types correspondence and does miscellaneous filing as required.
  • Does upline and downline transfer of meter reading information on hand-held devices.
  • Compiles meter reading information on a monthly basis and prepares reports.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Assigns and corrects customer account sequence numbers.
  • Substitutes for Field Service Clerk I.
  • Performs similar and incidental duties as required.
  • Assume an emergency management role, as assigned, and perform specific assignments or functions, as needed, in an event of an emergency, not to include routine trouble calls/callouts.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must pass the Edison Electric Institute Support & Administrative Selection System (SASS).ย  NOTE: Employees who have taken and passed the General Clerical Test do not need to take the SASS.
  • Must pass the SRA Oral & Written Directions Test.
  • Must have or be able to qualify for a State of Hawaii driver's license.ย  Must meet the standards for required driving positions stated in the Hiring Standards for Required Driving Positions policy.ย  These standards may be adjusted periodically to meet business and safety objectives.
  • Must have at least 1 year of general office and clerical experience.
  • Ability to type a minimum of 35 w.p.m.

Work Hours: 6:45 am - 3:15 pm

Wage: $25.94 per hour
