Overview
The Construction Project Executive is responsible for directing, planning and managing multiple construction project(s) ensuring projects are financially successful, safe and quality driven, as well as fostering and growing new client relations. The Project Executive will be assigned to one or more Clients and will be responsible for those Client’s projects from estimate through close out.

Location & Travel Details: You’ll get the opportunity to work across the US, helping our team build renewable projects. This position can be remote with regular travel (up to 50%) to job sites.  A vehicle allowance will be provided. When travel is required, meals and lodging will be covered on a corporate expense card.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Promote and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures
  • Oversee multiple projects and maintain prime contract with Owner
  • Foster and maintain Client Relations to get repeat business
  • Partner with Procurement on subcontractor and supplier awards
    • Coordinate team for takeoff and bid assembly assignments
    • Identify key trades for concentration and notify selected subcontractors of bid dates
    • Ensure quotes are obtained for all trades
    • Review all bids for their entirety and compliance with contract
    • Award contracts to subcontractors and establish Job Timing for contract
  • Finalize the design with the Owner of each project
  • Partner with Field Operations on staffing needs and scope specific processes
  • Quote and manage all change order and Owner’s request for extras
  • Identify, research, and resolve all contract disputes with the Owner
  • Review the submittal and approval process of the monthly application with the Owner
  • Collaborate with Sr Safety Manager on any jobsite safety issues
  • Manage and resolve or assist site leadership (or construction managers) in resolving all conflicts such as failure of subcontractors to perform, failure of materials to arrive, contract disputes and trade conflicts
  • Review with all the various local agencies to determine final acceptance, which will include release of all bond monies and final Certificate of Occupancy
  • Review the project and determine acceptability of completed work on an on-going basis
  • Visit jobsites on ongoing basis, inspecting the work and establishing final punch list
  • Maintain site coverage between active sites as required
  • Review labor and equipment analysis of the crew and equipment planners
  • Oversee project management teams, including Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers and Construction Managers
  • Set and ensure execution of project goals and expectations
  • Ensure Project Managers successfully execute the duties in their job descriptions
  • Invest time and effort in enhancing apprentices’ skills and knowledge – champion the process
  • Provide positive environment to support coaching and mentoring of apprentices
  • Commit to accurate classification to ensure PWA (Prevailing Wage & Apprenticeship) compliance when applicable
  • Commit to involving PWA (Prevailing Wage & Apprenticeship) team prior to subcontract negotiations
  • Ensure documents in regard to discipline for apprentices gets filled out completely and submitted to HR and PWA team for DOL purposes

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of five years of construction Industry experience/knowledge of construction techniques, estimating and construction management

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Zero Injury principles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Procore Primavera, Timberline, and Construction Software
  • Read, analyze and interpret blueprints, professional journals, technical procedures, contracts or governmental regulations
  • Write reports, business correspondence and document project activities
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from project managers, superintendents, clients, customers and the general public
  • Effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form

Working Environment:

  • When visiting jobsites the work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions
  • This work environment may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises
