Valiant Minds Counseling is seeking independently licensed Pennsylvania therapists who want the autonomy and flexibility of private practice without having to build and manage an entire practice on their own.

You determine your schedule, availability, caseload size, clinical specialties, and the populations you want to serve.

Valiant Minds provides the referrals, billing and credentialing infrastructure, marketing, furnished office space, EHR, and administrative support that help make private practice easier to build and sustain.

Whether you want to develop a substantial private-practice caseload or add a smaller number of clients alongside your existing professional work, you can create a practice that reflects your clinical interests and professional goals.

Compensation

Approximately $63–$98 per completed session

Clinicians are paid a percentage of the revenue collected for each completed session.

Most standard 53–60 minute therapy sessions currently pay approximately $70–$79 at the starting contractor rate, depending on the client's insurance plan and reimbursement rate.

Higher contractor compensation rates may be available based on clinical experience, specialty expertise, licensure, and professional background. Higher contractor rates, certain insurance reimbursements, and private-pay services can result in earnings of up to approximately $98 per completed session.

Because reimbursement varies by insurance plan and service type, the exact amount paid per session may differ.

This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity designed for clinicians who value professional autonomy.

You determine:

• Your schedule and appointment availability
• Your desired caseload size
• The days and times you see clients
• Your balance of in-person and telehealth services
• The populations you serve
• Your areas of clinical specialization
• The pace at which you build your caseload

There is no expectation that every clinician maintain the same schedule, caseload size, or clinical niche.

What Valiant Minds Provides

We provide much of the infrastructure clinicians would otherwise need to establish and maintain independently, including:

• Consistent client referrals based on specialty and availability
• Insurance credentialing and panel-management support
• Insurance eligibility, claims submission, invoicing, and billing support
• EHR, telehealth, and client payment-processing infrastructure
• Practice-wide advertising, marketing, and a professional website profile
• Fully furnished professional office space at no additional cost
• Administrative support related to contracted services
• Opportunities for peer consultation, professional collaboration, and access to practice leadership

There are no separate office-rental, furnishing, EHR, website-profile, or practice-marketing expenses associated with providing services through Valiant Minds.

You focus on your clinical practice. We provide the infrastructure around it.

Build Your Caseload Without Starting From Zero

Valiant Minds receives ongoing inquiries from prospective clients, with referrals matched according to clinician specialty, availability, insurance participation, and client needs.

Depending on existing credentials and applicable insurance requirements, some clinicians may be able to begin seeing referred clients through select insurance panels while additional credentialing is completed.

For therapists transitioning into private practice, this provides an opportunity to begin building a caseload without having to create an entire referral network on their own.

In-Person, Telehealth, or Hybrid

Clinicians who enjoy in-person work have access to fully furnished professional office space at no additional cost in our Castle Shannon / Mt. Lebanon location.

Prefer telehealth? Maintain a more virtual caseload.

Want both? Create the hybrid practice that works for you and your clients.

Independent—But Not Isolated

Private practice offers significant autonomy, but it can also become professionally isolating.

Valiant Minds offers access to a professional community while respecting each clinician's independence. Opportunities include:

• Peer consultation and clinical discussion

• Occasional informal gatherings and meetups
• Direct access to practice leadership for consultation

Participation in the professional community is encouraged, while clinicians maintain independence in managing their clinical practice.

Who We're Looking For

We are especially interested in clinicians with experience or interest in:

• Couples and relationship counseling
• Children and adolescents
• ADHD and neurodivergent clients
• Autism
• Anxiety and depression
• Trauma and PTSD
• OCD
• Grief and loss
• Life transitions
• Emotional regulation
• Family and relational concerns

Clinicians with other specialties are also strongly encouraged to apply.

We want therapists to bring their expertise to Valiant Minds—not fit themselves into a predetermined clinical box.

Professional Responsibilities

Independent clinicians are responsible for providing ethical, clinically appropriate behavioral-health services within the scope of their professional license and areas of competence.

Responsibilities include:

• Conducting diagnostic assessments and ongoing clinical evaluations as appropriate
• Providing psychotherapy within the clinician's scope of practice and competence
• Developing and maintaining individualized treatment plans
• Maintaining timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation
• Completing documentation necessary to support services submitted for insurance reimbursement
• Maintaining appropriate informed-consent and clinical records
• Monitoring client progress and adjusting treatment when clinically indicated
• Coordinating care with other healthcare professionals when appropriate and authorized
• Assessing and responding appropriately to clinical and safety concerns
• Maintaining professional and ethical boundaries
• Managing scheduling, availability, and continuity of care for their selected caseload
• Maintaining required professional licensure, liability coverage, continuing education, and credentials
• Complying with applicable legal, ethical, insurance, and professional standards

Clinicians maintain responsibility for their own clinical judgment, treatment decisions, therapeutic approach, and professional practice within the scope of their licensure.

Qualifications

Applicants must have:

• Active Pennsylvania professional licensure permitting independent clinical practice, such as LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or Psychologist
• Professional liability/malpractice insurance
• Required criminal, child-abuse, and FBI clearances, as applicable
• Strong clinical judgment and ethical decision-making
• Ability to independently manage a clinical caseload
• Commitment to timely and appropriate clinical documentation
• Commitment to evidence-informed, individualized, client-centered care
