Job description

Job Summary:
Qualcomm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Enterprise Architect to join our Enterprise Architecture Team. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of Qualcomm’s enterprise technical and AI architecture practice, ensuring it aligns with our business goals and technological advancements.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and Implement Enterprise Architecture Strategies: Create and execute comprehensive strategies that align with Qualcomm's business objectives, ensuring that the enterprise architecture supports and enhances business goals.
• Develop and Maintain a Comprehensive Enterprise Architecture for Qualcomm’s AI Landscape: Ensuring alignment with Qualcomm's overall business strategy and AI technology roadmap. Assess current state AI/ML capabilities across various business domains, identify gaps, and design target state architectures to drive innovation and operational excellence.
• Ensure Enterprise Alignment for AI Transformational Initiatives: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and executive leadership to bridge the gap between current and desired AI capabilities, preserving enterprise concerns in terms of corporate strategy, industry best practices, and overall agentic security.
• Establish AI Governance: Establish governance frameworks for AI capability, ensuring adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and Qualcomm's architectural principles.
• Ensure AI Cohesion: Create and maintain reference architectures, patterns, and best practices for AI/ML integration within Qualcomm's enterprise ecosystem. Identify opportunities to integrate AI and other emerging technologies into the enterprise architecture. Develop strategies to leverage these technologies to drive innovation and business value.
• Lead Architecture Review Boards: Ensure architectural integrity and governance across a wide breadth of technology concerns. Lead these boards to review and approve architectural decisions, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Conduct Business Value Stream Mapping: Perform detailed business value stream mapping exercises to identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation. Use these insights to drive efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.
• Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with various teams across the organization to design and implement enterprise-wide solutions. Foster strong relationships and ensure that architectural solutions meet the needs of all stakeholders.
• Ensure Compliance with Security Standards: Develop and enforce enterprise security standards and best practices. Ensure that all architectural solutions comply with these standards to protect Qualcomm's data and systems.
• Provide Guidance and Mentorship: Offer guidance and mentorship to junior architects and other team members. Share knowledge and expertise to help develop the skills and capabilities of the team.
• Stay Current with Industry Trends: Keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies. Use this knowledge to drive continuous improvement and innovation within Qualcomm's enterprise architecture.
• Define and Execute New Responsibilities: Leverage your experience to identify and define responsibilities that are currently not being conducted. Implement these responsibilities to mature the overall enterprise architecture practice and ensure it evolves to meet industry demands.
• Develop Infrastructure and Cloud Strategies: Create and implement strategies for infrastructure and cloud architecture that align with Qualcomm's business goals. Ensure that these strategies support scalability, reliability, and security.
• Modeling in Archimate and UML: Utilize Archimate and UML for modeling enterprise architecture. Ensure that models are accurate, comprehensive, and support decision-making processes.
• Drive Innovation through Technology: Identify and implement innovative technologies that can drive business value. Stay ahead of technological advancements and ensure that Qualcomm's enterprise architecture remains cutting-edge.
• Develop and Maintain Architecture Frameworks: Develop and maintain architecture frameworks, standards, and guidelines to ensure consistency and interoperability across the organization.
• Provide Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to the Enterprise Architecture team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
• Partner with Business and IT Stakeholders: Partner with business and IT stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective architectural solutions.
• Oversee IT Systems and Infrastructure: Oversee the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance IT systems and infrastructure.
• Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Manage External Relationships: Manage relationships with external vendors and partners to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and solutions.
• Monitor Emerging Technologies: Monitor and evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Master's Degree in Cognitive Science, Data Science/Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field is required
• 20+ years of experience in IT, with at least 6+ years in an enterprise architecture role with a focus on AI strategy, integration and transformation projects for large organizations
• Proven experience in assessing organizational AI capabilities and leading enterprise-wide transformations
• Strong understanding of Zero Trust Agentic AI security architecture
• Proven experience in developing and implementing enterprise architecture strategies and frameworks
• Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or FEAF
• Strong understanding of BIZBOK concepts
• Proficiency in data architecture, including data modeling, ETL processes, and database technologies
• Understanding of business processes modeling tools and techniques such as BPMN and ArchiMate
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a global, matrixed organization
• Experience with cloud computing, data management, and cybersecurity
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to translate business needs into architectural solutions
• Extremely high level of attention to detail in written communication, documentation, and presentation material
• Familiarity with project management methodologies and frameworks such as SAFe
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills, as the position requires working closely with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
• Strong leadership and change management skills to drive the adoption of new business processes and systems
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred:
• Professional certifications such as TOGAF, Zachman, or similar
• AWS, Azure, or GCP Certification
• ArchiMate 3 Practitioner Certification
• BPM Certification
• Experience in the semiconductor industry or a related field
• Deep knowledge of Cyber Security
• Semiconductor industry experience
• Demonstrated success in leading large-scale enterprise transformation projects
• Advanced understanding of financial modeling and budgeting in relation to IT investments and ROI
