Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant)

Sunshine Enterprise USA is retained by our valued client to search and recruit for the following executive opening:

Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our Cardiology team in Hilo, Hawaii. You will work alongside a collaborative group of cardiologists and healthcare professionals to provide high-quality cardiovascular care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This is a unique opportunity to practice in a supportive environment while enjoying an exceptional quality of life on the Big Island.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patient evaluations, histories, and physical exams for new and follow-up cardiology patients.
  • Manage and monitor patients with common cardiovascular conditions such as hypertension, coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, heart failure, hyperlipidemia, etc.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including EKGs, Holter monitors, echocardiograms, and stress tests.
  • Assist in care coordination for patients undergoing procedures or referred for specialty care.
  • Provide inpatient cardiology consults and follow-ups (if applicable).
  • Participate in hospital rounds, discharge planning, and transitions of care.
  • Educate patients and families on lifestyle changes, medications, and disease management.
  • Collaborate closely with supervising cardiologists, primary care providers, and support staff.

Requirements:

  • Current and unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in Hawaii, or eligibility to obtain one.
  • National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA).
  • BLS and ACLS certification required.
  • A minimum of 1–2 years of cardiology or internal medicine experience is preferred, but strong new graduates with relevant rotations or an RN background in cardiology will be considered.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working independently with physician support.
  • EMR experience (Epic or equivalent preferred).
