Job description

Sewer Camera Operator

Bayonet Plumbing & HVAC is seeking an experienced Sewer Camera Operator to perform sewer line inspections using advanced camera and locating equipment. This role is essential in diagnosing underground sewer issues, supporting plumbing crews, and ensuring accurate, high-quality assessments for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate sewer camera and locating equipment to perform inspections of sewer and drain lines.
  • Accurately diagnose blockages, breaks, root intrusion, or structural issues within pipe systems.
  • Document findings with clear video, photos, and detailed written inspection reports.
  • Assist plumbing technicians by identifying pipe depth, break locations, and repair requirements.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot sewer camera equipment to ensure proper functionality.
  • Communicate inspection results professionally with customers, supervisors, and repair teams.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines while working on residential and commercial job sites.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in confined spaces or outdoor environments
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

Preferred (but not required):

  • Experience operating sewer camera and locating equipment (e.g., RIDGID, Vivax-Metrotech)
  • Background in plumbing, sewer/drain work, utilities, or related trades
  • Knowledge of underground utility systems and pipe configurations
