Purchasing Specialist
Kalon Executive Search is partnering with a rapidly growing organization in the health, wellness, nutrition, and specialty ingredients industry to identify a highly organized and motivated Purchasing Specialist. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to build a long-term career in supply chain and procurement within a dynamic and collaborative environment.
The Purchasing Specialist will play a key role in supporting procurement operations by managing purchase orders, coordinating domestic and international shipments, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring inventory needs are met. This position offers exposure to global sourcing, logistics, and supply chain planning while working closely with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and process purchase orders through the company's ERP system based on customer demand and inventory requirements.
  • Manage assigned purchase orders from creation through delivery, including tracking order status, communicating updates, and resolving issues that could impact timelines.
  • Partner with suppliers and internal quality teams to ensure materials meet required specifications and all necessary documentation is received before delivery.
  • Coordinate shipments with transportation carriers and freight providers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Assist with international purchasing activities, including import logistics, customs documentation, and tracking applicable tariffs.
  • Monitor supplier pricing and communicate significant cost changes to internal stakeholders.
  • Support vendor negotiations related to pricing, lead times, and shipping terms.
  • Collaborate with procurement, logistics, quality, and customer support teams to proactively resolve supply chain challenges.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers while delivering a high level of professionalism and customer service.
  • Perform additional purchasing and supply chain duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree, military experience, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 1-2+ years of experience in purchasing, inventory planning, logistics, customer service, project management, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ERP systems.
