The Raytheon Full Service Partnering Center (FSPC) is seeking a Principal RF Test Engineer to support AN/TPY-2 Radar Depot Operations in a dynamic and collaborative setting onsite in Poulsbo, WA. In this high-visibility role, you will operate in a fast-paced environment, engaging with cross-functional teams to support engineering, quality control, low-rate initial production, and sustainment activities for the Naval Power Strategic Business Unit. You will collaborate closely with internal customers, including material program managers, manufacturing teams, engineers, and mission assurance/quality teams.

What You Will Do

As a Principal RF Test Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Perform testing and handle sensitive RF hardware with precision and care.

  • Design, develop, and implement innovative testing methods and equipment.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot RF and digital hardware to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

  • Support First Time Through Test Yield (FTTTY) initiatives and on-time hardware deliveries.

  • Analyze test data to identify potential trends and recommend process improvements or hardware optimizations.

  • Prepare and present detailed data to propose changes to testing equipment, processes, or procedures.

  • Collaborate with design engineering teams to identify, develop, and implement hardware enhancements or solutions.

  • Provide technical guidance and training to technicians, supporting them with troubleshooting and skill development.

  • Monitor product yields, address yield detractors, and implement corrective actions to meet program objectives.

  • Actively participate in program meetings to report yield performance, identify root causes, and share corrective action plans.

  • Engage with cross-functional teams, including production control, test technicians, manufacturing engineers, system engineers, program management, and other support teams, to align on organizational objectives and deliverables.

  • Work independently and collaboratively to meet critical program milestones and deadlines.

  • Apply a strong understanding of RF theory and concepts to review requirements, test plans, and scenarios.

  • Communicate effectively across teams and stakeholders, contributing to a high-performance and innovative work environment. 

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.

  • Experience with RF circuit testing and troubleshooting.

  • Experience with laboratory equipment such as waveform generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and / or network analyzers.

  • Experience preparing documentation, including test plans and test reports.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to less-experienced engineers or technicians.

  •  Proven ability to lead or oversee technical teams, including managing tasks, tracking progress, reporting outcomes, and supporting proposals.

  • A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative team.

  • Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience with: Testing amplifiers, filters, mixers, VCOs, and synthesizers.

  • Experience developing and evaluating test plans and authoring detailed technical reports.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
