Job Description


We are seeking a Senior Python Backend Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in API-first Python services, microservices, and CI/CD and a proven ability to deliver reliable, test-driven backend systems at scale.


Responsibilities:



  • Design and develop Python-based microservices and RESTful APIs using FastAPI.

  • Implement robust OOP/OOD patterns and ensure code quality through TDD.

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, including deployment verification and issue remediation.

  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools, review generated code, and improve consistency.

  • Create and execute unit tests and test cases from JIRA stories and requirements.

  • Monitor production systems, investigate alerts, and drive resolution using Splunk dashboards and searches.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable services.


Required Skills & Qualifications:



  • Expert-level Python backend development with FastAPI and WSGI/ASGI servers such as Gunicorn.

  • Proven experience building API-driven systems and microservices.

  • Strong OOD/OOP skills and familiarity with Python virtual environments.

  • Hands-on CI/CD pipeline experience, including deployment verification and troubleshooting.

  • TDD mindset with the ability to write and maintain unit tests and interpret test cases.

  • Proficiency with Git and GitHub; familiarity with GitFlow or GitOps practices.

  • Experience with monitoring and alerting; ability to use tools such as Splunk for searches and dashboards.

  • Comfort with artifact management tools such as Artifactory.

  • 7+ years of backend engineering experience with complex, data-heavy systems.


Preferred Skills:



  • Exposure to AI/GenAI development tools, GitHub Copilot, LLM workflows, and code review of AI-generated outputs.

  • Financial services or risk technology background.

  • Experience processing large datasets and performance optimization in distributed systems.

  • Familiarity with Agile practices and JIRA-driven delivery.
