Executive Producer

FOX13 Memphis is looking for an experienced newsroom leader who thrives in a fast-paced, breaking news environment to become our next Executive Producer.This leader will oversee the editorial direction of our evening newscasts, helping to shape the station’s daily coverage while leading a team dedicated to delivering impactful journalism across every platform.

The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller, decisive leader, and collaborative coach who understands what matters to the Mid-South. You'll work alongside reporters, anchors, photographers, digital producers, and newsroom leadership to ensure our coverage is urgent, accurate, compelling, and reflects the communities we serve.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of producers, helping them grow editorially and creatively.
  • Oversee the editorial direction and daily execution of FOX13's evening newscasts, including story selection, showcasing, pacing, teases, and overall presentation.
  • Drive coverage that is urgent, relevant, visual, and focused on the issues that matter most to viewers across the Mid-South.
  • Collaborate closely with newsroom managers, anchors, reporters, photographers, digital producers, and assignment editors to create seamless, multiplatform coverage.
  • Help lead coverage of breaking news, severe weather, major investigations, and community-impact stories.
  • Ensure every newscast reflects the highest standards of journalistic accuracy, fairness, and ethical reporting.
  • Make sound editorial decisions under deadline pressure while balancing live, developing, and enterprise coverage.
  • Use audience data, research, and competitive analysis to continuously improve our newscasts and digital performance.
  • Foster a newsroom culture built on collaboration, innovation, accountability, and coaching.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Five or more years of television news producing experience, with previous newsroom leadership or executive producer experience preferred.
  • A proven track record of producing compelling, competitive newscasts in a fast-paced newsroom.
  • Exceptional news judgment, strong writing skills, and a passion for impactful storytelling.
  • The ability to lead calmly and confidently during breaking news and severe weather coverage.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Experience with ENPS or similar newsroom systems and a strong understanding of digital, streaming, and social media platforms.
  • A collaborative leadership style with a passion for coaching journalists and building strong teams.
  • A relentless commitment to serving the community through trusted journalism.
