Clearance Required: Active DoD Top Secret (TS/SCI preferred) Are you a seasoned communications security (COMSEC) expert with military experience and a passion for shaping the future of Army cyber capabilities? We’re looking for a COMSEC Policy Writer Executive to play a pivotal role in the U.S. Army’s Cryptographic Modernization Program.
In this high-visibility, mission-driven role, you will lead the development and dissemination of Army-wide COMSEC policy. Your work will directly impact warfighter communications security, modernization initiatives, and cyber resilience across Army operations. What You’ll Do:
Write, update, and drive COMSEC policy, SOPs, and technical documentation.
Serve as a key liaison between senior leadership (1-star to 3-star, SES, GS levels) and Army cyber teams.
Provide subject matter expertise on cryptographic systems, radios, and secure key management (EKMS/KMI).
Lead implementation of crypto modernization strategies across the Army.
Analyze and visualize operational data using Excel, PowerPoint, and (ideally) Power BI.
Champion change adoption and guide cyber policy alignment with evolving technologies. What We’re Looking For:
Military background preferred: Retired CW4/CW5, XO, Army Action Officer, or equivalent with deep Army structure understanding.
Hands-on experience with tactical radio systems (SINCGARS, AN/PRC series), cryptographic devices, and COMSEC regulations.
Proven success in writing and managing Army or DoD-level policies.
Comfortable interfacing with high-level decision-makers and translating strategic goals into actionable policy.
Strong skills in Excel (pivot tables, formulas) and PowerPoint; Power BI is a plus. This is an on-site position at Fort Belvoir, VA, offering the opportunity to work closely with Army leadership and contribute meaningfully to national security initiatives.
