Job description

Vyond is seeking a junior Chief of Staff (CoS) to act as a strategic advisor and gatekeeper to the CEO. This role will serve as an operational right hand, responsible for amplifying the CEO's leverage, bridging the gap between strategy and execution, overseeing cross-functional special projects, and optimizing executive decision-making.

Objectives of this role
  • Partner with the CEO to shape and communicate long-term strategic plans and corporate vision. Immediately engage and help project manage a focused strategy process, the Vyond 3.0 Strategy Sprint, to define where the company goes next: what we become, who we serve, how we win, and the few critical growth initiatives that will get us there.

  • Translate the CEO's high-level vision into actionable organizational goals and trackable KPIs.

  • Prepare and manage the agendas for high-stakes leadership, board of directors, and all-hands meetings.

  • Spearhead complex, cross-functional special projects that do not fall neatly into a single department.

  • Identify and eliminate operational bottlenecks, ensuring projects stay on track and within budget.

  • Anticipate challenges and head off roadblocks before they escalate to the executive level.

  • Filter, organize, and prioritize information flow (emails, reports) into and out of the CEO's office.

  • Draft executive communications on behalf of the CEO, including speeches, company newsletters, memos, and board presentations.

  • Act as a primary liaison between the CEO, senior leadership, external partners, and investors

  • Serve as liaison with staff, executives, senior leaders, and CEO regarding company climate, employee well-being, project updates, proposals, and planning

Skills and qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree highly preferred.

  • Experience: 7+ years of combined experience in strategy consulting, operational leadership, or high-impact project management.

  • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of corporate finance, organizational dynamics, and business strategy. Experience working in PE environments is a plus.

  • AI First Orientation: comfortable using AI tools to accelerate research, summarize complex information, identify patterns, draft materials, pressure-test ideas, and improve the quality and speed of decision-making.

  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to distill complex data into clear recommendations.

  • Trust & Integrity: Unwavering discretion when handling highly sensitive and confidential company information.

  • Emotional Intelligence: High emotional intelligence to successfully influence without direct authority and navigate varied internal stakeholders.

  • Desired Location: Bay Area based with the expectation to spend several days a week in the San Mateo office
